| Esky 005 Does anyone know how to get the blade holders off ? I have tried loosening the horizontal srews that are inside the blade holders but they just turn and turn and never come out ? It looks like I will have to take the head apart some, that's fine but would be nice for someone to point me in the right direction. |

| Re: Esky 005 Well, I don't know for sure but if it's like most helis, there is a small rod between the blade holders called a feathering shaft, or a spindle. There is a screw into EACH end of this and to remove the blade holders, you have to use an allen wrench to hold one side while you unscrew from the other side.....one of the two screws will let loose and then you can take everything off. Make sure to take notes of where all the washers and spacers and bearings go. Some of the washers might be a "stepped" washer and they have to go back in the same way that they come off so pay attention. Good luck!!! |

| Re: Esky 005 Make sure to use a tiny bit of locktite on those very screws that you were talking about. Not doing so could result in a blade coming off, which can be nasty if you or anyone else gets in its way ![]() Just normal locktite is enough, I use blue stuff which sets great...I use red stuff for something that need never come apart...so be careful what you use..otherwise those screws will be staying in there forever. | Re: Esky 005 Another tip: Some kits come with allen wrench keys that are the wrong size, I have seen 1.5 mm keys when the correct size is 1/16 imperial....I used to curse the creator of allen keys for quite some time before realising this....it was one of those 'Now Life Makes Perfect Sense!!!' moments. Pays not to overtighten things either. Always check over your heli, after a flight session is over is better...that way you get to spot things and fix them...rushing about before a flight is not a good idea...you can get impatient and not spot a serious problem. |
