Unhappy Kyosho Caliber EP M24 Battery Pack

I just receive my Kyosho Caliber EP yesterday from Tower Hobbies. I read through the manual and saw that they have a seperate battery pack that is designed for quick charging and notes that the battery pack the comes with the heli is for the slow charger. Has anyone try the Quick Charge the battery that come with the kit?

I also got the EP24, but the battery pack is grossly underpowered and heavy.

I changed it to a 3 Cell LiPo and got it zipping around the place.

But because the LiPo is so light, I have to ensure that the heli is still balanced at the main shaft.

This I added a small AAA size battery in the cabin as dead weight.

Collin,

Do you get more flying time out of the LiPo battery pack? You are right about the stock battery pack being heavy and under power. I can barely get it to hover 2 feet.

Please let me know where you purchase the LiPO battery pack. Thank

Yes, it looks something very similiar to that. You have to ensure the connectors are the same as the original though, which should be quite easy to find.

The only thing is that the it won't fit into the battery holder, so I had to remove that, and just put the battery in the cabin with a lot of sponge padding to keep the battery from moving.

Flight time is a lot more than 5 mins. In fact I haven't got to the point of having to land due to lack of battery. The motor gets hot faster than the battery gets worn down anyway, so I have to bring it down to cool off.

Re: Kyosho Caliber M24 life up issue

Dear Colin,

I am a totally new player for R/C helicopter and I recentley bought a Kyosho Caliber M24. However, I am facing some matter and I wonder if you could kindly give me some advise on the followings questions which would be really appreciate, thank you !

1. I try to life up the flight inside my house however, when it lift up to about 1 foot, it crashed and I find the main blade has a minor scratch. Then next attempt, I charge my battery for about 6-7 hours. However, even I move the throtle to the maximum power it wouldn't lift up, what's wrong?

2. For this model, I heard the charging time for the battery need about 10hours. Do you think the main reason was lack of battery ?? Or something that damage which casue this result.

Thanks and best regards,
Wako

Re: Kyosho Caliber EP M24 Battery Pack

Hi Wako,

It's strange that with a full charge you can't even lift off. Seems like you're not getting enough juice out of that battery. The charge time, if using their charger is 10+ hours.

Anyway, I wouldn't even bother using their batteries. The flight time is only 3 to 5 mins. Consider getting a 3 cell LiPO battery as a replacement. But before you do, read everything there is about LiPO batteries first. You will need a proper LiPO charger as well.

Post Re: Kyosho Caliber EP M24 !! HELP!!

hi Guys.

I need your help, I bought above RC helicopter after 1 crash and then I can never fly it again not even lift up, why ?? However, I don't see there is any serious physical damage unless the main blade has a bit scratch.

But I remember the main motor's gear was total lost however, I changed it already.

Jacko
