| 1 day away from first electric helicopter bought an Esky RAH-66 Co-Commanche 4 channel. Never been involved before. Do i stare at the box, open it, read the directions ?i figure i am gonna charge both batteries and just go for it. I have extra blades coming also Will the 4 channel be a problem for a beginner? |

| Re: 1 day away from first electric helicopter nah dude.. i took my lama v4 right out of the box. One thing is it will be hard to hover if you are only like 3 inches of the ground so take it up about 1 foot and it will stabalize. then go from there you will love it! Just take it slow but dont be afriad to break a blade

| Re: 1 day away from first electric helicopter It's a lot of fun! But be very careful about just "going for it" even the 4 ch. can be a handful if you have not flown before. Try using a simulator first if you can. You could be a natural and pull it off, but be careful and good luck. Let us know how it goes. Ken |

| Re: 1 day away from first electric helicopter Quote:
4-channel refers to the number of control inputs. Throttle up/down, rudder rt/lt, cyclic fwd/bk, cyclic rt/lt. Your Co-Comanche looks to be a modified Esky Lama, so it probably has 2 servos.

| Re: 1 day away from first electric helicopter Gster...good idea about a magazine. Do read up on the hobby and get some dvd stuff as well...if you can. Its a 'technical' hobby, but pretty much anyone with interest will pick up the idea. Half the battle is getting a heli to fly well...once you nail those principles they apply to most RC helis..so regardless of how far you want to go within the hobby...you will have a good working knowledge. I am addicted to flying, try to fly most days if I can...got a Petrol engined monster and a little Trex 450XL...both are great helis. The Trex is a handy size to go fly on a football pitch...its not big enough to menace anyone plus its almost silent....sounds like a tiny turbine Heres hoping you get addicted ![]() Rob |
