| I'm affraid there is not a straight forward answer to this question because you ask about a heli that is for use in 2 locations each require different answers. For simple flying indoors the safest to use would be fixed pitch. this is because in general you require less rotor head speed to generate the lift required to fly. this fixed pitch head also takes more of a battering in that when you crash, Most of the time the head and blades just pop off. A simple refitting is all is needed and your away again. You can fly the fixed pitch outdoors but it is advised that this only be done on a calm day with very little to no wind. This is because the heli is so light that it will react to the slightest breeze. This of course only applies to the little heli's the bigger they get the better the stability. The collective pitch heli will give you more control outdoors but they are also easily pushed about in the breeze. the fact that it has a higher rotor speed though does make it more controlable. The fact that it has a higher rotor speed is not so good indoors unless you have a good amount of room to be safe. This allso has another draw back in that the blades if you crash are very likely to be damaged that can lead to other parts of the heli being damaged. This is why most pilots will advise against starting with a collective pitch heli if you are going in the direction of micro electrics. learn to fly before you commit to the added exitment of collective pitch helis. As for a straight answer to which is easier to control. Well the collective pitch heli will be more responsive and therefor easy to control for the pilot that can fly. The fixed pitch heli is allso easy to control when you get the hang of flying heli's. The act of flying a helicopter electric/nitro or petrol, Is a skill that needs to be learned. Only when you fly heli's can you find any easy to control. They all require the same level of control from the pilot. The Heli FP or CP does not make flying easier. your skill level does. I hope this goes some way to answer your questions Regards Darren ![]()

| Hello Tim9 if your just starting out and looking at micro's I'd go with the Ikarus Piccolo V2 its the new version it's fixed pitch less parts to break in a crash http://www.ikarus.net/onlineshop/usa...hop/index.html although it costs a little more than the hummingbird it is made so that when you crash it pops apart with little damage. i have a hummingbird frame in my comanche body and the first crash i broke the hub and the blades also bent the main shaft i crashed my cobra last week drove it into the grass nose first and the only part i replaced was one main blade plus the ikarus piccolo has been around longer and there are a lot of aftermarket parts and they have a great forum to help with problems and how to learn to fly. they got me in the air http://www.ikarus-modellbau.de/ubbth...ubbthreads.php if you want to go micro CP then go for a hornet V2 everyone i know that has one likes it and they say it fly's better in 3D than the ikarus pro did you checkout my fleet http://www.helifever.com/forums/show...=&threadid=552 Ow Ya this hobby is ADDICTIVE Turco
