HDX300SE Superior Edition Helicopter Kit

I'd like to see if there is any interest in starting a new thread for the HeliDirect HDX300SE V3. HeliDirect is now shipping a new version that has a redesigned frame (different from their current assembly instructions and the one that Finless did a build video on).

Would this be the right place to post to see if anyone is interested in this as a thread?

I got one of these units about 2 weeks ago and just started the build. Here's a photo of the frame.

Re: HDX300SE Superior Edition Helicopter Kit

Hi there.
I just got one of these for myself, unfortunately being a newbie myself I'm having a few little problems trying to work out where everything goes as thre's no fitting destructions that come with it... I've managed so far to get the frame, tail and head fitted and am still getting to grips with everything else...

Hi Jay,

Welcome to the group. I sent a ticket to HeliDirect, and they said they were working on some revised instructions, but didn't say when they would be released. I've got about as far as you on the build, and now I'm taking a break.

Bill

Re: HDX300SE Superior Edition Helicopter Kit

Hello everybody, please can you help by letting me know just how many of you guys have had problems fitting the upgrade 40 tooth belt pulley. I found that using the HDX300 belt with the 40t pulley meant having to shorten the boom or push it ways forwards. Neither of these really works well because the result is the same, you end up with the tail rotor clashing with the main rotor; and a shorter boom makes the tail less efficient: was this your problem and how did you find a fix and are you satisfied with the result. I am asking this because I believe that there is a really good solution for this. I am posting this because it would be good to see if there is sufficient interest in fixing this problem. The cost would be under $15 and would leave you with a 40t pulley, a boom sufficient to clear 255mm blades using the latest HDX300 Tail blades. Please could you post and let me know. Thank you
