Re: New E-Flite Heli

Update:Well the not so local hobby shop has just got this Heli in last thursday. I would allready have me one if he would have let me pay him for it over the phone. I may get by there this afternoon, after our Company Christmas party. We will have to see. I will let you know how it goes!

Re: New E-Flite Heli

Interesting.

I reckon this new bird could be good, especially if the parts are as cheap and plentiful as Aligns stuff.

The Trex is still a good heli though.

What I like about the Blade 400 package is the spectrum radio...good move doing that...very shrewd.

Re: New E-Flite Heli

The Eflite 400 is similar to the MX400, T-rex etc. It is a bigger and more rigid airframe than the CP.
However, for the price I've seen them you might as well get a T-rex.
If you are willing to do a little tinkering, get an MX or T-rex ARF and put the money saved into a Futaba 7C or 6ex.
I don't get all the fuss about Spectrum unless you have alot of RFI.
My MX's final cost after electronics and a used Futaba 6EXHP was around $200.

Re: New E-Flite Heli

Hey Folks,

No Eflite 400 (though I do think they are out now) but I own a TREX 450SE V2. I couldn't be happier with the quality of the parts and ease of assembly. That being said, I am still not even close to being a 3D pilot although I do put quite a bit of time in with my RealFlight G4 sim. I own a TREX, BCX2, and Pizzo-Z (I fly the later birds around the house 'cause my son gets a kick out of them!).

I don't have the money or the inclination (don't think there is a need) to purchase a 400 but I look forward to reading your posts about the heli's performance. The 400 is a RTF heli, correct? That may be a plus for new pilots BUT I think the work I did with my TREX has really helped me in doing the repairs...and I have had to do some!

Again, look forward to reading future posts about the 400.

Cheers,
Brett

Re: New E-Flite Heli

I am adding the 400 to my wish list. From what I've seen and heard. The 400 comes with a nice price tag. If everything goes good I should have it within a couple of weeks. I'll let everybody know what I think about it. But, if you have it already, let me know what you think about it.

Re: New E-Flite Heli - Checked it out!

Folks,

Just returned from my local HS. They have 400s in stock and they're selling like crazy. They just got 7 in at close of business yesterday and had 4 left when I went to the shop 15 mins after opening (also selling a lot of replacement blades for the BCX2 that guys got for Christmas...just thought I'd add that). OK, I didn't get to see the owner fly one as he did the day before but...As mentioned in a previous reply, the price tag is nice and the heli has nice capabilities. I think, though, that the price is low do to the quality of the parts...mostly plastic to include the frame. I think that if you are planning on starting with this heli you will likely go through a lot of replacement parts...and they had NONE in stock. So, it may be a bit cumbersome to purchase, fly, crash, wait for parts, install them, etc...But, if you are an accomplished pilot, fly well, and just looking for another heli to add to your fleet this may be a nice buy. I'm still sticking with my BCX2 (w/ new carbon boom which is fun) and my TREX 450SE. I tend to need to replace things often and there are plenty of parts in stock at all times.

Anyway, thought I would share that!

-Brett
