Honey Bee King 2 noob question Hey guys, I just purchased a Honey Bee King 2, and I'm extrememly new to this whole thing. So here's my problem, I got my heli in today and I got everything setup (tightened blades, installed trainer skids, etc...) I got the battery charged and plugged it in. Without the controller being on, the helicopter began what seemed to be a servo calibrating program on its own. I tried picking it up to walk it outside and the damn rotors spun up and whacked my arm pretty good. It continued to do this for a couple minuted and stopped. I set it outside and it started up again. I ended up zip tieing it to a table to let it continue without tumbling and hurting itself. It still wont stop doing this unless the controller is on. As soon as I turn the controller off, it starts up again. It's like it has a mind of it's own, what's happening??? I want to fly it!

Re: Honey Bee King 2 noob question The controller needs to be turned on before you plug in the heli batt every time you are gonna do anything. The transmitter has to be putting out signal to the receiver or the heli will go ape s@#t as you described.

Re: Honey Bee King 2 noob question Controller on first.....controller off last. You were lucky....that heli could otherwise have hopped up into your face....or someone elses. Live and learn. Rob

Re: Honey Bee King 2 noob question Ah, that makes sense. The manual didn't help much either, it's really more of a parts catalog than anything else, but thanks for the help guys.

Re: Honey Bee King 2 noob question The receiver needs to be receiving a signal or it can do what you describe. Also most have a "failsafe" mode as to what to do in case it loses the signal. Don't know what the default is but it could be anything. You should never move it around powered up for at least two reasons. Either you can get out of range of the receiver or you or someone else could knock the throttle on. Also if you move it after powering it up you will have the gyro attempt to correct the change in orientation when you try to lift off which can make it spin and when you are learning that can be scarey..
