Pilot Trainee (New Guy)

Greetings to the forum.

Just found the place, glad I did, as I'm sure I'll ask you all the beginner (sometimes silly) questions you've all been asked before. Just bought a Honey Bee King 2, the training skids and an RC simulator. Hope I made a good choice, they all look pretty similar, but I'm not an expert. I am an old RC gas flyer from 20 years ago, gave the hobby up when costs were to much for a young 21 year old and his new wife and son. Just turned 50 and always wanted to try helicopters, so here I am. Dave in Stanwood, Washington.

Hi there, I always wanted to own and fly an rc heli....looks like things have moved on a bit since 20 years ago...seems that the radios and gyros have seen the biggest advances...a basic computer radio is so flexible in what it can support.

Electric flight has been improved by Li Po batterys and good chargers...but do be aware of the potential problems that Li Po batterys can present....they are a fire risk...so treat them as such...never leave them alone when they are being charged....I know some small helis have Nimh batterys...but a lot of them are supplied with Li Pos as well.

What do you think of the simulator? I reckon they are a great idea.
