New and Emerging Heli Falcon 3d

Hey guys i haven't posted here in a while. I've been busy fly my sim and researching heli's to spend my tax money on. Well I found it..The Falcon 3d..from hobby-lobby.com. It is 299 rft includes brushless motor and esc so no need to upgrade. Gear driven tail. I haven't got mine yet but I have been reading like crazy and haven't really found any large issues on any of the other thread posts. If any one here has bought this heli and has any info on it i would appreciate feedback. I can't wait it get it and get in the air again when it warms up. See ya

Warm up. Damn. We have 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground and the temp is in the mid 20's F. I'm almost to the point of having my wife make a sweater for the helicopters I can take it outside and get flying.

LOL Donald

Re: New and Emerging Heli Falcon 3d

The falcon is from art tech and i have the mini pred whitch is exactly the same it must be just a different name for the european model, the 1st thing u will need to do is tidy up the wiring and stick some rubber tubing over some of the vital wires cus it'll glitch like a pig out the box, i've moved the esc to under the belly of the helli and put the receiver on the side although i've now installed the spectrum dx in it, my fly bar was bent from new and the pitch will need setting unless, mine was a mile out, the helli will have a few loose screws so check them all, ok so wots its like! this was my 1st cp machine and boy did it keep me busy, its very quick off the mark and a bit skitish for a bigginer like me but the new radio gear has transformed it, i can now fly ( a little) and the better i get the better the little helli becomes, theres never been any isues with quality or the electronics for wot i no and this has got to be a major bonus, i've had 3 big crashes with the thing (all my own fault) the last was head on into the ground at 20mph at a guess and all i had to do was glue the batt tray back, replace the fly bar, tape up the canopy and replace the blades, re set the pitch and tracking and the little helli was up and flying again within an hour, now thats a tuff little thing. One thing i forgot to mention, cut 2 wires from the esc to motor and stick a plug on the end so u can power up without the motor firing.

Thanks, I've seen a few pics of the heli how it comes and the esc is under the heli like you said. also the wires are all permed so maybe they'll be alright. I think i'll go get some nice connectors for the esc connect like you said. I've read that before also. Thanks again and hopefully i'll have some pics when it comes in.

Careful with boom strikes on a gear driven tail. One of the weaknesses on my Elite 3d is that on a hard strike, the crown gear on the main shaft strips. I converted to belt drive for that reason. No more having to pull the main shaft 'cuz I can't land straight

Re: New and Emerging Heli Falcon 3d

I just had my falcon out hovering around today and this thing is great! I learnt to fly on a 22e, so this is a world of difference. with the right setup it will pretty much hover hands off. I agree parts are a bit hard to come by, as far as i know hobby loby is the only place to get them. Kind of a pain for me as shipping and border fees add up. Just the same i am very happy with mine
