| Re: new cx2 and new to mods This forum is filled with stuff you can do to the CX2. There are extended shafts, blade grips, carbon fiber tail booms and flybars, lights, unbreakable landing skids, aluminum parts (incl. frame, battery tray, ect), motors and more.
I've only been flying the CX2 for a couple of months now, but my opinion is keep your upgrades down. The money for upgrades can get crazy. I've done a lot of research and also playing around with my own heli. I have come to the conclusion that unless you plan on never buying a better heli (as you will want to soon), keep your upgrade to the following:
1. Better batteries. Higher mAh= longer flight time. Higher discharge rate (10c, 15c)=more power.
2. Extended shafts. Once you start clacking your blades during flight, get extended shafts (or make your own) to stop blade strikes.
3. Aluminum swash plate. These don't seem to separate like the stock ones to and they make for a more responsive control.
You can throw enough $$ on upgrade to buy a Blade 400 or even a Trex. Save that money so you can buy something bigger later on.
My copter has a carbon fiber tail boom, extended batteries, alum swash plate & heads, home made shafts that are almost 1/2" longer than stock and I cut the flybar short and put on Trex 450 weights. Also, I moved my servo links to the 2nd from the end (way more responsive).
Everytime I think of doing an upgrade now, I put that money away so I can buy something bigger.
Just my 2 cents worth. |
