Re: Any one out there!

My CX2 had a bad toilet bowl problem early on and after careful blade balancing and replacing a bad top bearing it went away. My CX2 still gets out of shape time to time, but it is because i am usually not being smooth with the controls. Tail-drift was a problem when I started, but don't notice it much now in open areas. I do notice it when I try to fly it through a 3' long 3' dia cardboard tube. I have to constantly correct for it not to hit the tube. Turbulence is a bigger problem with the tube, but it is a fun challenge.

My CX2 doesn't like to be pushed. Aggressive maneuvers causes it to loose altitude. Over-shooting the controls to correct makes it grumpy.

I have been asking more from the CX2 then it is designed for and it lets me know. I will be upgrading to a 500 class so it can fair better outdoors.

Re: Any one out there!

Not so much the track of the upper blades...thats done by twisting the blades...you need contrasting colours on the blade tips...and go hover if one of the colours is higher than the other while hovering at eye level then you need to gently twist that blade so it 'flys' down a touch...repeat the exercise till the blade tip colours are a nce blur...then the tracking is ok.

No the flybar if its out of kilter will cause some erratic behaviour...just adjust a half turn in or out ang go hover around...if its worse then adjust the opposite way etc etc.

I used mine with a small hook made from a paperclip to pick up loads

quite good fun and very intense flying...like the hoop idea though...how about a flaming hoop make sure to get a fire extinguisher there first though.

Re: Any one out there!

hi,i had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago.i took it to the shop
and the flybar had kind of twisted in its housing(sorry, dont know tech
names yet)he told me that the flybar and the top blades should be all
floppy and move easily when you tap the flybar.he also told me its worth
looking inside the holes on the top blades just to check there isnt a burr
of plastic causing them to stick.hope this helps.
crap weather this weekend, typically english.the only thing thats
gauranteed is i wont have to visit the model shop tomorrow for more
spares for my pred.

Re: Any one out there!

Thats the MiniPred isnt it? I got one of those a while ago....they fly quite well...quite docile.

I dont use mine anymore as it crashed a couple of times due to radio glitches etc. I had it flying upside down and all that...but only after fitting some real radio gear so I could get better flexibility in setting up.

I modded the head on mine, the rubber o rings that are within the hub were too loose...I added some rings and washers to stiffen it up...made a much better handling heli...more responsive if anything.

The small allen bolts are 1/16'' size NOT 1.5mm....use 1.5mm keys and these suckers WILL round off...so make sure to find 1/16'' size keys...you will need two of them.

The stock motor and ESC are rubbish too...theres no point rubbishing the heli...its a 'deal package' after all. For its money its not too bad. Dont trust the radio though...or rather the batterys...once the power starts to show its low...change those batterys! or get some rechargables...be the better deal.

I got a real Predator, its a Century Predator with a petrol engine...yeah...its a beast really nice heli to fly.

Re: Any one out there!

hi,it seems ok.but like you said its a package deal.i was looking to get it for my birthday but i done some little jobs for my boss and he bought it for me.got some spares too.thank god.so i cant really moan about it.looking at the price of spares i think they are more than reasonable.im still on very basic hovering at the mo.
im sure alot of it is down to confidence, when i take off with the pred all im thinking about is how much damage im going to do and how much will it cost.i flew my blade last night, not worried about if i spanked it or not as ive got the pred and i had my best flight ever.the pred will do me for a while as i only know the basics and dont want to get out of my depth.steve

Re: Any one out there!

Okay..............so I was FUI (flying under the influence) last night and broke one of my lower blades. I balanced another set using liquid white-out! Works really good and makes viewing your blades easier. Anyway, the balance was near perfect, but as I checked the blade tracking of the upper set, that was dead on, I noticed the the lowers weren't. I could see the "V" in the lower set as I held my CX2 up at eye level. Any suggestion on a fix or a why this is happening?
