| pitch angle problem with blade 400 i recently started having a problem with my blade 400. this began after one of my crashes as i am new to the sport. when i get to about half power, i start losing power and the blades slow down. i checked my pitch angle and it was off so i adjusted them and i am still having this problem. can anyone recommend any ideas. i called the company and they couldnt help me. i removed the blades and powered it up and it didnt lose power so i figured it must be the pitch angle. any help would be appreciated. thanks |

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 I dont think the pitch is the problem, if you have too much pitch at middle throttle you should be flying and the electric motor on the 400 is strong. First and easier is to check the throttle curve, remember that at normal flying the throttle should be something like linear from minimun to maximun from left to right on the graphic, I know that you did not crash your radio so programming should be fine. Second, if you crashed you had to assemble everything back, so check if all the links and parts are in their correct position. check the main gears which for me are a low point on the 400, check the tail gear and tail belt for jams at high speeds. Third. Check the wiring from the RX to the ESC Fourth. Check your ESC or Motor. You should find your problem with the above steps.

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 Thankyou for your advice. When i watch the blades as i increase power, the pitch angle on one blade increases but on the other blade it does not. i watch all the moving parts on the shaft and they appear to move properly together so i cant figure out why the pitch on one of the blades does not change. |

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 In order to check if the blade pitch changed accordly you must hold the flybar (the two smaller blades) horizontal and them move the throttle, this is how this system works when the spin gives centrifugal force to all the parts, first remove the three color cables connected to the motor so you can move the throttle without rotation and adjust the system safely

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 thanks i will give it a try. also do you have an idea of what the lower and higher end pitch angles should be when optimal. i was told from -2 to +10. |

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 One thing i found out the other day was my cable off the battery was rubbing on the main motor. Drove me crazy trying to figure out what was going on. Just a thought... Have fun.

| Re: pitch angle problem with blade 400 For beginners (normal mode) Ill suggest +1 to +7 or +8 maximun, if you have +10 and you get into trouble you may apply full throttle suddenly and the drag from a +10 degrees blades may be too much for the motor and you wont get the respond you want. this is specially true on 30 nitro helis, but I feel it on my 400 as well. Also the torque produced by a suddenly +10 blades will force your 400 to spin unless you have a better Gyro that the one that comes with it. You can make this test, adjust the angle as desired, then make a hover and suddenly apply full throttle, you will see the respond of the bird, adjust accordly, Dont be afraid if the bird starts to go up spinning, just keep it that way and when achieve enough altitude reduce power, do not try to stabilize the bird with alilerons or rudder, the bird should come to a still position again quickly. For Stunt1 or Idleup (both are same thing) when you will go inverted and 3D stuff should reach -7 to +8. Just remember that for hovering you will need +4 to +5 the same thing inverted -4 to -5 the rest will give you power to go up and down either way, but dont go to extremes on degrees unless you have a 50 nitro or more powered electric bird
