Removing Screws on CX2

I have looked through many of the posts on the forum and have been unable to find anything. I am trying to take out the screws on the bottome of the heli to remove the inner shaft. I have figured out which ones to take out but the problem is they seem like the Incredible Hulk put them in. I have tried everything I can think of to get them loose and just haven't had much luck. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that my terminology isn't very good since I'm just starting out. Thank you so much again for any help.

I assume you are talking about the screws on the fitting just below the main gear that hold the shaft in place...just changed my main shaft a couple weeks ago (to one with the blue CNC) but I didn't seem to have a problem. They set in pretty solidly but came out just fine with a small amount of force. I don't think they used any loc-tite on the screws. I have taken my CX2 apart completely (as I have upgraded everthing possible, I think?!?!) and don't recall running into any big problems. I know I haven't given much advice but if you are trying to remove something other than the screws to which I am referring, let me know and I'll take a pic of my CX and try and point out anything that may help.

I finally got it. I had to use small needle nose pliers to get them loose. I don't know why they were so tight. Thanks for the response Brett.

Great news! Would have hated for you to be "grounded" for too long! The CX2 is a lot of fun, my one-year old loves watching the thing fly around the house. The dog, on the other hand, isn't a huge fan. Happy flying!

Rugbee 13: I have bought the replacement shaft for the cx2 but haven't installed it yet, thinking I'll put some time on the original one first. Did you notice any difference? I also have the blue swash plate but also holding off on it as a replacement. I fly it outdoors in the calm and is ok except for the trees, and finding a bit of snow helps landings, yuk yuk.
I have also run a band of light clear tape horizontally around the landing gear to help reinforce it when the training gear is off.

Well, I went and replaced all the components at once. So, though I notice quite a bit of difference, I'm not sure what exactly which component(s) contributed to the change. My take is that the CNC swash plate probably made a signifanct difference. My CX2 is much more responsive to the controls than it used to be and I had to tweak the linkage bars a bit to get everything even. Really don't think the shaft made a huge impact.

Of note, I also replaced the stock tail piece with a CF boom. Though I like the look, I really think the heli flew better with the original part...so, I may take off the CF boom and go back to the original.

Not sure that this reply is much help. Let me know what you think when you "upgrade."

I also had a hard time removing the retaining collar screws. It did seem a bit tight with some type of loctite on it. I also stripped the screwhead on my upper rotor head trying to remove the flybar. I wish that E-flite would come out with a hex head upgrade kit for all of the screws on their helis.
