| Re: time to move on? cx to cp any thoughts? I use the Real flight simulator, and have the cx2 also. I can fly the cx2 on the simulator and in the yard, yet it does have the forward flop characteristic when you try to fly horizontal. I find a tremendous difference between flying the cx2 and 400 types on the simulator and wonder if that is true in reality. If so I think I would need more stick time on the simulator before getting into the $$$ 400 or 450 series. Where have most of you listers started? Can you fly the simulator takeoff, hover, simulator? Thanks |

| Re: time to move on? cx to cp any thoughts? Sims, generally are pretty good with realism...that said some models are easier to fly in real life. Yes there is a huge gulf between CX2 and a heli like a Trex 450 or a Blade 400. Get as much stick time as you can with the CX...and use that sim well too. After that its a case of taking things easy and getting used to how responsive your chosen heli is. Rob |

| Re: time to move on? cx to cp any thoughts? Thanks Hawkman: I spent the eve, reinforcing the LG. and then ++ all 3 batteries. Calm turned to very light wind early even at 33f. Chased a late hunting barred owl, and then lost the heli up on a bluff, but recovered it w/ just a rebroken leg on the LG. After 3 batteries the threshold was above the limits of the cx2. I will see whats up this eve prior to a cold front. Getting a better handle now on the cx2 and out/return, and l and r turns, now if I get the soft landings. some taller grass would help! In OHio |

| Re: time to move on? cx to cp any thoughts? Yes...nail the CX in terms of handling and you are on the right track...I have this thing that it useless buying all the gear when you havent mastered what you got in the first place...take a nice musical instrument....and add a person who just doesnt have the heart to learn and it sounds terrible...give a battered cheap instrument to someone with the talent and it sounds great No....my guitar playing is still poor![]() Poor Owl!!! better make sure He/She doesnt turn about and eat the CX as a snack ![]() Just got back from doing some filming with my Heli...awsome night for it. | Re: time to move on? cx to cp any thoughts? the cx on sim and the cx in real life. ive notice in realflight g4 the cx is way way easier to fly. you almost cant crash it!!!! while the real cx may be as close as easy to fly as we can get in an rc heli, it is most certainly not hard to crash!! i would say realism? as real as a sim on a computer can be. i can 3d the hell out of sim models!!!!!! ive never flown a cp ship yet. my pal does though. he also flies 3d. but only in his sim. he won,t fly his trex this way. because it's way harder than on the sim ![]() get hot with the cx. then start fresh with a cp. |
