| OK guys here's one for you to solve. When I spin up the Blade it starts to drift to the left, nose keeps straight, but the thing slides on its training gear, I apply nearly FULL right & yet it still goes skidding left...is this right I wonder? Never done this without the training gear!!! By the way, the swash moves correctly, if I apply right it tilts right, apply back it tilts back. Now I'm scared to lift off incase it toples over & then I have to be extra kind to the mrs to buy new parts ![]() Regards Ross |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? This is normal when on the ground It is called Ground Effect. It should not be a problem once you get airborn. However, until you do get airborn, you won't know for sure if there is too much "left" in the heli so I would suggest taking off/hovering just a foot or so in height. Be ready to input a little right if needed. I assume that you have training gear on the heli, right? If not, get some or make some. Most helicopters will want to drift a little to the left when they get light on the skids but this does go away when the heli gets up to a height equal or greater than their rotor diameter. Hope this is helpful.........GO FLY!! jim |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? Hi Jim, it is worse with the training gear. Had it set up & flown by a 3D pilot today, he flies a trex 600N & wanted to buy it off me!!!! So now I want a 600E ![]() Thanks again Regards Ross |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? All Helis drift to left as stated above, once in air you will be fine, it will be a natural trend down the road to give right on takeoff and it will appear as if heli lifts straight off this will become natural as you pilot more and more. If you want to see a better understanding of this read and also try RADDS School Of Rotary Flight, go through the 10 Battery process you will spend less money on parts and more time in the air at the end. |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? I have sussed out giving it more throttle & hold a touch of right as she get light on the training gear, lift off straight up now & I find 3 ft up to be very sedate compared to bouncing about at 6 inches ![]() Regards Ross |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? That's exactly what I was talking about. Once you are up 3 feet, ground effect dissapears and things smooth out. You will find that you will get used to adding the right as you lift off and eventually, you won't even think about it. Glad to hear you're off and running (hovering) so go practice! Enjoy!!!

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? I ran 3 batteries through it today without a single incident, apart from my nerves. Considering the only space I have is about 3 times the rotor diameter all around! Ross |

| Re: Strange Blade 400 problem? Boy, that's pretty tight to practice in. I usually take this one outside and practice in the street in front of my house if the wind isn't blowing too hard but it's been so darn cold lately, that I can't get out there. Good luck!!!
