| Re: Newbie with CX2 Welcome to the hobby!! I started with the CX2 as well (which is still the greatest indoor "hover" flyer) and then got a Blade CP+ followed by a Blade 400. In my opinion the best "next step" after the CX2 is a good simulator. Going from the twin rotor CX2 to a collective pitch single main rotor heli is a huge step and you'll save a lot of money, time and frustration training on a sim. The good sims are not cheap but destroying a nice helicopter is more... After building some confidence with the sim, either "step up" Eflite Blade model (CP+/CP pro or 400) is a good choice. Hope that helps... |

| Re: Newbie with CX2 HA...You're hooked now! I started with a AirHog Havoc to fly in my office for fun...thought that was fun but amateur so naturally I needed a better heli. So, next came the Blade CX2. Started to get very good with that thing (indoors and out) and thought I should, therefore, upgrade from that heli. So, I went to my local hobby store which specializes in helis and fixed wing and thought I needed everything they had! Well, I settled on a TREX 450SE V2 w/ a DX7. So then I thought I was good to go...until the morning after I get it set up and tried to demonstrate my skills for my father! Seriously damaged the REX within 1 minute of flight So, I repaired the REX and stuck to flying the BCX2 (which is now SERIOUSLY modified and great fun for my son to watch). I really don't wreck it often now either (minus a broken blade or so every couple weeks). After watching my REX mildew in it's case for a month I realized that was a waste so I went and got a Realflight G4 sim to hone my skills! BEST BUY EVER and has seriously helped me out. Now I can fly all my helis without crashing...though I still don't push my luck with the REX too much. Anyway, forgot the real topic at hand so I'll stop here. Have great fun, keep posting, and good luck! -Brett

| Re: Newbie with CX2 The CX2 gives you that 'feel' on the controls of how to fly a typical RC heli. Get as good as you can with the CX...and getting a sim is a good step. At the end of the day its 'airtime' you want, a sim will give you a lot if you take it seriously. After that its simply airtime you need. |
