Question What is tracking

I have heard a lot of people say make sure your top blades are tracking right. How do you check to see if it is right? How do you fix it if its not right. I think mine is fine but I am trying to learn all I can about this little beast. I have a Blade cx2 if it matters on different helis

Re: What is tracking

Turn on the transmitter, then plug in the battery on the heli. Hold the heli at arms length and throttle it up. Look at the top blades from the side. They should appear as one blade, tracking on the same plane. If you see one blade above the other, then you need to adjust.

There is a linkage between the flybar and the upper blades. This has to be adjusted. On the stock CX2 this is sort of a trail-and-error process. Loosen or tighten the linkage until the blades track on the same plane.

Re: What is tracking

I hope I can explain this without being too technical. When they say that your blades need to be tracked correctly it just means that your blades need to follow the same path. The best way to find out if your blades are following the same path is by making your helicopter fly and watch closely how your blades spin from eye level.

Noticed the blades, make sure that the blades look as one. If you can see both blades spinning as two separate blades, then you're tracking is off. And jukeboxguy is correct, the only true way to get your blades tracked is by a trial and error.

I hope this helps you further understand the tracking scenario but if not, I'm sure somebody else here will explain it in greater detail. Good luck and remember, have fun.

Thanks Guys, That helps out a lot.
So if its not tracking right will that make it move in different directions or will it make the heli vibrate
