Thumbs up Hello ya'll

I would like to introduce myself as this is my first post.
After years of great intrest in RC, I finally scored my first one as a belated Christmas present It was the Blade CX2 RTF package and it sure must mean it when it says 'READY FOR ANYONE TO FLY' 'cause I haven't busted it yet!!!
After reading the manual a couple of times while topping off the battery, I checked servo operation and slowly reved up to watch for correct rotations the rotors. At low speed, I began testing the sesitivity of the controls by slightly pulling this way and that. That was enough for one day so recharge and done.
Next time I took it to largest uncluttered indoor space I had (A 12' x 18' tiled entryway) and started carefully skidding around and making quick jumps while fine tuning.
The next session (a session for me is 10-15min since it only came with one battery and I don't have enough free time to recarge and go again )I spent just trying to hover without crashing. After a couple more sessions I acually was able to hover within a 2' radius and manuver from one area to another then turn and come back!! The reversed controls on the return trips still freak me out from time to time.

This is the most awsome hobbie I have tried and I can't wait to find out how it handles outside and away from ground effect.

My Blade uses a 7.4V 800mAh 2-cell Li-Po w/ JST and I would like to get longer fly-time. Can I use a higher mAh at the same Voltage or would that take a different charger?

Good holllerin' at ya and great to have my Blade;

Ted

Re: Hello ya'll

You will find that one battery is enough anyway....two batterys would mean more flying time but on cheap helis with cheap motors....this is not a slur by the way.......the motors would get too hot with too much flying.....its better for the motors to cool down.....I wouldnt fly too long/intensely for this very reason.

Welcome to the hobby.....its very addictive....and downright fun!!!
