Blade CP wont lift.

Ok, Ive tried both my stock 650 Ni-Mh, and both of my 2cell 800 mah li-pos and this problem doesnt go away. First off the heli used to work. Had a small incident of crashing into my cousin (he's fine not even a scratch from it). Anyways, now the heli wont lift off till around 100% throttle, and when it does it just all of a sudden lifts. Now I would think that this is sticky collective, but it only rises a few inches, then doesnt have enough lift to climb anymore. The swashplate is supposed to rise with the throttle/collective right? Well mine lowers with throttle stick now. Everything else works right.

Any ideas?
John

Re: Blade CP wont lift.

After your crash, did you have to adjust your pitch on the main blades?
If you have to much or to little pitch your heli will not fly, to much it would try to lift off sooner, if it is pitch you probably have to little.

Did you damage your blades, if they are dinged up, the air will not flow correctly and you will not get enough hs to lift off.

Have you adjusted your throttle minimum idle switch beside the throtle stick on you tx, it should normally be at about 1/2 when you are flying, slide it all the way down to arm the 4;1 and slide it up untill the tail starts to move, then back off alittle.

Good luck
Van

Re: Blade CP wont lift.

No I didnt have to adjust the pitch after the crash, in fact I dont know how. Ill try switching blades, they didnt look too bad but its worth a try. Ive been flying with throttle trim all the way down, Ill try moving that up also. Thanks for all the ideas besides saying fix sticky collective.

Thanks
John

Re: Blade CP wont lift.

Thanks for the links, but now I got another problem, first off I havent been able to get it to lift since my last post. Today I tore it apart and did the sticky collective fix. Now the blades dont get much more than possible +1. Dont have a guage so I cant be sure. They go into negative just fine. The servos wont lower the swash anymore though. I can see some marks where it looks like the swash used to go to. If I push it to there it gets plenty of positive pitch, but the servos wont do it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
John

Re: Blade CP wont lift.

Okay, you were getting plenty of + lift before, but not enough hs to fly, right?

Now your not getting positive lift, all you did was took off the blade grips and moved the washers, right? If you have bell hiller setup, I would say you have the arm backwards, check that your head assembly is set up the same as before, if this doesn't help then you have 2 choices, you can shorten the adjustable linkage from the servo's to the swash or you can adjust your linkage to the blades.

If you can, take a picture of your head assembly as you have it now and post it with your next message. Your linkages should not have changed that much with the minor adjustment you made, if we can see your setup, we may be able to see what is wrong.
