new bcp

I got a new bcp as a gift, looked at manual, checked control movements. All seems well (i guess?) What do I do now, just move collective up and try to hover? How do I start out? Is the fly bar supposed to be totally straight before attempting flight?

Re: new bcp

You need to get a flight simulator first! Before you crash your new Blade..Also you should order more main and tail blades... You will need them..
Oh,,,, don't even think about flying it with out training gear!!!!! Helicopter's are very hard to fly.. When I ordered mine ,,, I spent almost as much on spare parts as I did on Helicopter.. It came in the same shippement.... You will need parts!!

Re: new bcp

flying indoors is a great idea but also give yourself as much room as possible, the bigger the room the better.

Re: new bcp

Got my BCP Saturday Night - anyways, don't fly it outside with wind... and you'll need a flat surface...I need to play with the trims on the controller.

Good luck with yours, I have gotten airborne... it's very scary lol.

Re: new bcp

Congrats.. It's rather addicting. If you haven't gotten it yet, I suggest a li-po battery. Training gears are very helpful as well. Saves the landing gears a bit. Not completely, but they help from breaking so quickly.

Re: new bcp

Try this site:
http://www.dream-models.com/eco/flying-index.html

I crashed mine directly out of the box! Then someone sent me to Radd's site and I corrected my ways!

Also got a cheap sim like this one I use:

http://www.rcflightsim.com/cvweb1/main.jsp

This has a demo mode- but only for heavier helis (you need that anyway when you first start- they are easier to fly). Download and try it out first to ensure your computer has the necessary requirements. $30 to unlock all aircraft and flying fields - just try it out.

To use your E-flite stock transmitter you will need a cable from

www.milehighwings.com at about $45 - get the correct cable though!

Don't forget training gear! Or you can make for yourself.
