| Purchacing Decision Help CX/CP I would like to purchace an electric rc helicopter in the near future and would like your opinions. My local hobby store carries the Blade CP/CX Helicopter as well as all parts, so my choice would have to be between these two. I spoke to the store clerk yesterday for awile about the pros/cons of both helicopters. I am drawn more to the CP for the sheer fact that it is more advanced than the CX if I have the patience to stick with the learning curve. I am also more interested in the CP because I would like to eventually fly it outdoors. I understand its really hard to fly the CP outdoors unless there is absolutely zero wind. As far as indoor flight (living room/ halls), is the CP 'to much' for indoor use? Comments? The store clerk demonstrated the CX in the store and I was amazed how stable it was. He spoke that the CX is a model you could hover in a few hours while the CP will take upward of 20 hours of practice to even get to hover efficiently. Comments? With the price in the two models 189/219 just $30 apart, it would seem that I would want the more advanced CP, but I am also curious about average repair costs. I am very comfortable with nitro RC cars/trucks and their required repairs after smacking into a curb at 45mph, but the whole flight thing is completly new to me. The store clerk said the more common parts to break are replaced by their $25 crash kit, but after reading some crash reports form new heli flyers on the forum, it seems it may get a little more costly. I read a thread about a guy who had his CP for 12 days and broke the rotors 3 times. Is this "normal" and expected from a new flyer or is way out in left field? I am interested to hear comments especially around novice/first time flyers and the time/cost it took to get their flying stable. Also I would like to hear comments about 'must have' upgrades that I could possibly purchase immediatly to aid in crash resistance. Thanks much James |

| Re: Purchacing Decision Help CX/CP The CP will definately be more challenging fly than the CX. If you think you might want to get into aerobatics go with the CP. The CX will be more stable and easier to learn to fly. I don't think you can go wrong either way. Good luck! |

| Re: Purchacing Decision Help CX/CP You will not learn to fly with the CX. You can basically just throttle up and just set the controller down and it will stay there. The CX is a fun bird to fly around the house. If you want to learn to fly any type of rc heli, go with the CP. The most common thing that I have on breaking are main blades. I tend to hit things. Only been through a set of landing skids, but gone through about 5 main blades. |

| Re: Purchacing Decision Help CX/CP iwent through 6 sets of main rotors just learning to hover. the cx anybody can fly efficiently, the cp is much harder to learn, but more authentic, and i believe to be a great "stepping stone" to bigger and better things. if your just learning the cx is the ticket. ive also been through 3 tail motors, 2 main chassis, 4 crash kits, etc its hard to learn to fly indoors in a 12 x 10 area. |
