Problem with 4-in-1

Not sure what to do on correcting this problem. Been learning to fly with this bird and was doing fairly well hovering with the stock motor and blades. Then I upgraded to the aerobatics kit and it doesn't have that much lift. Li-po is coming, so that is no biggie. My issue is that the 4 in 1 is redlighting at around 75% throttle and it sounds like it bogs down after 80% throttle or more. Is this normal? I never noticed this before.

When you say "I upgraded to the aerobatics kit" does that mean you also installed the 9T motor. If so, that would be your problem. You may also have your pitch too high causeing the motor to bog down.

75% for red light is normal. Or very close to it,, !!
Your main motor could be dieing too. Mine did with only 9 battery pack's run on my 1300mAh li-poly. Also check your blade tracking!!

Re: Problem with 4-in-1

I did in fact upgrade the motor as well. I knew that the lift wasn't gonna be the same. I've tried to mess around with the pitch but that was even worse. Couldn't even lift. Motor is still new. Only flew maybe 3 times. I'm not sure if I should try adjusting the swashplate and if so, up or down? I figured I would wait until I get the li-po before messing around with it any further. Just trying to get it dialed in so I can start being brave and invert.

Re: Problem with 4-in-1

If you are still using the stock NiMH battery pack then you won't be able to hover let alone fly the BCP with the aerobatic enhancement kit. The symetrical blades require a much higher head speed to generate lift and the stock battery pack just isn't up to the task. You should switch to LiPo's if you want to use the aero kit.

Re: Problem with 4-in-1

Thanks mitchell. Yeah, li-po will be here hopefully first of next week. Just antsy right now cause I just wanna fly now... I guess I just need some more patience. Anyway, I'm sure once I use the li-po, all will be fine.

Re: Problem with 4-in-1

If you changed out your main motor as well,, make sure that you have the pinion set right. (( not to tight !!!!! ))
PS: you should get at least two battery ( Li-poly battery's and don't forget they take a different charger!!! )

yes the lipo 3 cell will help aspecialy since you switched to the 9 tooth pinion. if you dont have a lipo with the 9 tooth then you wont get any more than a foot lift off the ground. when i first got the 9 tooth that was my problem but i figured it out.

Happy flying
