after upgrade, BCP only hovers a foot off the ground After installing the E-flite Aerobatic Enhancement Kit with the 370 motor w/9T 0.5M pinion gear and my heli will only hover a foot off the ground. I am running with stock 9.6v nickel metal battery fully charged. I don't understand what my problem is? It was just running fine my last run, 20 mins before. I know I should eventually upgrade to Lipo batteries but without the upgarde my heli should get off the ground more than a foot, right? Also I have a Castle Creations CM-20 brushless motor 8000 rpm/v and the Mamba 25 ESC, could I throw that in my Blade CP? And how would I go about installing these?

Re: after upgrade, BCP only hovers a foot off the ground If the motor is spinning up to max speed, I would try increasing the pitch on the main blades to see if that helps. When you say you installed the upgrade kit, did you also install the symetrical blades? These baldes have less lift and you might want to put the flat bottoms back on.

Re: after upgrade, BCP only hovers a foot off the ground By installing the 370 motor, you have increased the current draw on the stock battery. It will also turn the rotor at a lower speed with a given throttle setting you used with the stock motor. I tried the same set up you are using when I upgraded to the aerobatic hop-up and was seriously dissappointed until I switched over to lipo batteries. That is the big ticket when you go to the aerobatic upgrade. Happy Flying!!!

Re: after upgrade, BCP only hovers a foot off the ground The rotor blades from the aerobatic enhancment kit are symetrical, therefore they do not provide as much lift as the flat bottom rotor blades that come with the BCP. The symetrical rotors require more rotor head speed to generate lift and the stock NiMH batteries just don't provide enough power to achieve that desired head speed. If you want to use the symetrical blades you should switch to LiPo batteries.
