Question DD Tail on BCP

Has anyone done a direct drive tail conversion on the Blade CP?

I want to use a DD tail on mine but don't know where to start. Can I just use the stock motor with a DD mount?

Re: DD Tail on BCP

I'm going for the Ducted Fan conversion on mine. I'm just waiting on the site to get them back in stock. This way I never have to worry about banging the tail rotor again and sending it into a thousand pieces.

Check out this site. I just ordered some stuff from them. Can't wait for it to get here so I can fly again.

Re: DD Tail on BCP

I did a direct drive upgrade about a week after getting the CP. I use a GWS IPS motor and a GWS 3x2 prop. The IPS motor is a round can, stock motor has flat sides. THe IPS will fit in the tail motor housing with a little pressure. Screw holes line up nicely. When installed, the IPS motor will be canted slightly forward on the shft end, this is no problem. The GWS 3x2 prop fits on the shaft nicely if you very slightly camfer the hole on the mouting side. I use about 3 slight turns with the end of an 11 exacto blade. Prop is mounted with the raised print facing the motor. Use the Blade CP upgrade heatsink on the motor. I was able to purchase the motor and 2 props as a set thru my local hobby store. HAPPY FLYING!!
