Blade CP TR problem? Maybe!

I seem to be having a problem with the TR on my Blade. I think.
When hovering it will slighty turn left so I trim it then it starts turning right so I trim it agian. I keep going back and forth but I can never get it stable. Just to note, this is very slight. I have the gain set complete full and I've tweaked the porportional as much as possible. Anyone have this happen or is this normal.

It also has a problem of turning left whenever I give it throttle. Not sure if this is normal or not.

Re: Blade CP TR problem? Maybe!

You aren't having a problem with the transmitter. Centrifical force is trying to pull the Blade back and to the left before getting up to a good rotor speed for hovering and lift. If you have turned your gain and proprtion back up, they are now maladjusted and you will need to reset these two just a bit. Your proportional adjustment helps control the tail motor speed in regards to the main motor speed. This counter acts the rotor torque. You will need to turn this down in increments until the nose no longer turns right at half throttle. Your rudder trim tab on the transmitter will need to be centered for this. Each time you adjust the proportion slightly counter clockwise (BATTERY DISCONNECTED) until your happy with the nose rotation.

Your gain controls the sensitivity of the gyro. Your gyro is basically a heading lock for the tail rotor. If you have turned it up all the way, the tail is probably going to twitch back and forth pretty fast. Turn your gain counterclockwise a little at a time until the tail no long jumps left and right at hover. This is about mid-point on the pot. For further info I may not have covered on this, consult the owers manual, which covers this whole excersize.

Happy Flying!!

Re: Blade CP TR problem? Maybe!

Thanks for the feedback. I do have the gain all the way up and the tail does not wag at all. Every so often it will get a burst of speed and swing the tail.

I'll try turning it down about half way to see if it's any better. How do I know if I've gone too far down though?

With the gain turned all the way up, your gyro is working overtime to keep the nose stright. Try turning your proportion up just a little (battery disconnected) and turn your gain down a little. Fortunately your Blade doesn't sound as sensitive as mine on the adjustments and your not having severe tail wag with the gain all the way up. As your battery starts to fade, you will be adjusting the rudder trim anyway. Happy Flying!!

Re: Blade CP TR problem? Maybe!

I did readjust the proportional a little and put the gain about halfway. I also strapped down the Rx so it won't vibrate as much. It seems to be doing a lot better.

I still hate adjusting the TR the whole flight as the battery goes down but hopefully when I get my lipo it won't be as bad.

Re: Blade CP TR problem? Maybe!

I ordered a direct drive TR assembly and hopefully it will work out better than the stock gears. I see a lot of people are happy with the direct drive TR.
