Re: Brushless motors for blade CP

ok with brushless motors the throttle is in place 4 on the 6ch Rx. now what you do is patch the two wires into the RX wires that connect to the battery. so you have that plug and wires coming from the battery into your RX, patch (sodder) the wires onto the corresponding wires on the Rx, then just hook up the three wires from the esc onto the brushless motor and fly, following the instruchtions to turn off the brake and turn it into heli mode. now you have a brushless system. now your problem will be too much power as in hovering at less than half stick, but I bet that's not a problem if you get a larger battery...
ADVANTAGES OF BRUSHLESS:
1. twice as efficent
2. same power motor can behalf as small
3. more brute power
4. easier on Rx
5 should last for nearly forever

DISADVANTAGES:
starts a bit suddenly, but is smooth once it is moving
more complex

does that sound nice? ok for your tail motor you're going to have to patch ANOTHER esc into your TX, and find a sutable motor, I don't know what you'd use, probably a plane motor designated to drive that size prop.

what to use: well I'm not sure as this heli is a bit smaller than my heli, but you could use an align 400, (2800KV) but you could probably use the 420LF too, not sure where you'd get pinnions for it though... your on your own for the tail motor, but try looking at grand RC for parts. good luck!

PS: align motors use a 3mm shaft. and if it DOES use a TRex/shogun like gear thread then look for their align TRex pinnions.

Re: Brushless motors for blade CP

m 36 just keeps pulling, it's over 700g now! and I still lift off at half throttle! heh, good luck with the motor, I think you'll like brushless quite a bit. oh before I go brushless motors just start up all of a sudden, this is normal, so after you put it in heli mode, with no brake, just spin the rotors as long as they're moving when you press the throttle it doesn't jump, this'll save you from pushing the rotors back when you start up keeping your heli flying smooth. It also can save your main shaft if you've already had a problem with stripping a main shaft.

uh...cheers! thecheat
