Talking 2-4.8 volt 1100mAhr with y cable?

Question, Any reason i cant connect 2 - 4.8 volt 1100mAhr batteries with a y cable and get longer flight times? I mean 2 at 4.8 volts @ 1100mAhr = 2200mAhr right? What about 3 or 4, forget the weight just wondered if it would make a diff??

Um i know sum about electricity and i dont think your math is right on the 2x1100mAHR equals 2200mAhr. It would really depend on how you connect them! But search google for electricity laws. ( ohms, and some others i cant think of right now but it should work.

connect them and measure the voltage at the other end...you should be good to go...it when you start connecting batterys in parallel that you get into doubling the voltage...which might not be a good idea.

I use a 2400mah 4.8 pack on my Predator...works a treat...usage comes down to about 50 mah per minute of flying...going by the mah that gets charged back in...but this is with digital servos all round.

You might want to take a look at the Nimh 3700 mah packs you can get...I got one late last year...still havent fitted it yet. Might be looking at fitting a generator...this is going to fit onto the starter shaft...I use the pull start anyhow. The only 'mod' I have to do is to take the starter bearing and put it upside down...so the shaft is driven...thus powering the generator.

Sorry Rob but running batteries in parallel keeps the voltage the same, Running them in series doubles the voltage. A flash light for example is batts ran in series. Jumping a car batt with another car with jumper cables is in parallel. Found out that you just have to keep the mAhr the same.
