Hi all, It's good to be back in the air again.
In the last tip-over the rotor head was cracked bad enough to replace. Funny thing it seems it's back ordered and no one knows when they will arrive. When things like this happen one must do the impossible. Fix the broken!
Found an old TX antenna I had that fit tight through the aloy center and was able to zap the plastic back together. Then I cut a piece of the antenna to press and glue in the center. It's stronger than the stock head and lest having a rotor strike will hold together.
When the new part arrives I will reinforce it the same way. Had I not reinforced it with tubing I wouldn't fly with it..
On the Test Flight, the worst thing that happened was my hands were shaking so bad that it made me look like a green-horn.
I saw something about an inch or so, black in color drop off the tail rotor and this was a shock. It turned out being molly grease that was blowing out of the gearbox.
The main shaft was bent a slight bit and caused the tail to vibrate up and down, replaced it and the problem is gone.
