**Wood Blade Limitation**

Hi all, I got a question on wood blades. I have a Century Raven powered by a 46FXH. The copter came with fiberglass/carbon fiber blades and for cost I have wood blades.
My question is what are the limitations? Can they do simple maneuvers
such as loops and auto? I really am tempted to loop but am holding back in case of a failure.

the only thing i know about woodies is they flex more than carbon blades
im not sure if the flex helps 3d, but some people chit chat about tail stricks and wot not or blades breaking under stress
id stick with cf blades for 3d

Re: **Wood Blade Limitation**

there shouldnt be any problems with woodies....I use them on my Hawk and do loops and other stunts.

The critical thing is headspeed...overspeeding will cause a problem where the blades will be under so much stress they will fall apart.

I tried carbon blades....they lasted 5 minutes as my gyro mode was all messed up (my fault) I was flying without a gyro basically.....the Hawk ended up on its side and the blades blew up as they hit the dirt

I will get some more one day....I can get two sets of woodies for the price of one set of carbon blades.......I will stick with woodies for now.

Re: **Wood Blade Limitation**

Know the feeling, want to add when the glass or composite blades even duff the ground the impact will bend the mast and everything in between.. with the wood it's only the blade that gets it and nothing else. Cheep as borsh!
The breeze is coming so I must get breakfast and that out of the way and hit the field.
