Hi all you "Century Brothers" (and sisters). Im staying in South Africa and owns a Hawk Pro. Great machine, no problems with the heli, but I'm very dissapointed with their after sales service (none thus far).Ordered some upgrades direct from the manufacturers via the Net about 2 weeks ago, enquired via E-Mail a couple of times and still no reply!! The only model shop in South Africa who stocks Century seems to have the same problem with Century. This is not cool, 'cause it's really an awesome little machine (had a Raptor 50 a while back), and Hawk doesn't stand back an inch to the Raptor-series in terms of performance and quality. Hope that one of you can maybe give me a tip on getting some service. PS: Even tried to call late at night SA time (about 11:00 AM Calif. time) still no luck...... Happy Hovering Frikkie |

Re: Century after-sales service??? Your not the only one, your best bet is too call, most of my e-mails unreturned and you gotta be real persistent with your calling if you want help. Century makes ok products but their survice thus far for me and from what I've heard is garbage. How is the hawk pro any ways??? WOuld I be better off gettin a raptor???

Re: Century after-sales service??? Hi, I guess you looked on Tower Hobbies web for parts... I also ordered parts from Helicopter World and had no problems tho they charge an arm and a cousin for shipping. Jim ![]()

Re: Century after-sales service??? Hi Frikkie ![]() I hear what you say about the service...or lack of...I think the products are ok...certainly happy with the Hawk I have. BUT!!! that aside....I am thinking about another make of heli. I own a Sceadu evo which is 30 size and only needs kitting out so it can fly. I have heard these machines fly very well...I would believe it as the quality is there. Seems like you have to live on Centurys doorstep to get service.....and thats not what its all about.....darn shame...nice helis at sensible prices...but poor service...its something that needs some serious thought. Its like 'do you want my money?' Rob

Re: Century after-sales service??? Hey Rob! How's the new job going? Hope u're enjoying it! Spoke to the SA dealers about the service issue. Looks like they sorted themselfes out now, apparently the can now get anytheing they want within 4 weeks. Well, I'll put them to the test - and see what the mark-up is for the service.... Apparently Century primarily wants to help/ supply their dealers and distributors, that's why I thing we get the "slower" end of the service, not that I tthink it's right at all. Have you eventually got the spares you needed. Let me know- speek 2 ya later ! Frikkie ![]()

Re: Century after-sales service??? Hey Frikkie....reckon your right about the dealer side of things. I did get spares from the UK originally and the service was fine....but we all look for a deal and I thought getting the stuff from century would be cheaper. Looks like I will use the UK rep for now.......if there were loads of heli flyers here I would set up a dealership!! The new job is awsome, the S 61 is a big machine but its loaded with tried and trusted technology......its my first week and I am learning how to refuel and do rotors running refuels too. Its a dream come true ![]() The people working there are intrigued by RC helis...I took a magazine out there and its vanished a couple of times....I might just get an indoor type electric heli...there is one there but its a dragonfly something and has limited control. I hear what you say about Centurys products....they seem to make good gear...a 50 size 'Falcon' would be nice to get. Rob
