battery

What battery packs is everyone running with their helis? And about how may minutes or flights do you get on one charge? Are they AA size or sub C's? Think one pack is gone, only getting one flight on it, and gets low on power.

Re: battery

Still running a 600 Mah pack for the Rx/servos in my Hawk....lasts ages...well a couple of hours during a typical day out.

Going to upgrade and put an 1100 Mha Battery soon.

Re: battery

Dont cheat yourself on batteries. I fly 3000 mah, nimh. Get em at all-battery.com, for 14.95. I would never fly one on 600 mah. Thats what put me out of heli's in 03. Battery dropped to 4 volts, and damned glad the club house was empty. The heli went straight into it and made one hell of crash pile. Since then, big batteries, and frequent charges, between flights. I do still have some 2000 mah AA packs, but they are on the way out.

Re: battery

I just checked all-battery.com. The 3000 nimh subc, is now 15.99. I bought mine last year at 14.95. Says for airtronics, but plug fits all, futaba, jr, etc.
Use your regular wall charger when you first get em, will charge to about 5.8. Drain em down to about 3, and recharge back to the 5.8 or what ever they will take. I then put em on quick charger, with power from my auto jump start box, and finish em off at about 8 plus. Will last forever at the field. Have never dropped below 5.8 volts.
