Raven 50, Yee Haw!!!

hey everyone;

well i just got done ordering a new raven 50 eccpm, os 50hyper and some bling for it as well- the bird and motor should be here in 3 days so- i was wandering what you guys that have or have flown this bird think about it- should be a pretty good ship huh? im upgrading from a hawk sport with a os 32 sx-h.

any opinions on equip.- i was thinking the futaba s9451for cyclic/yaw-s9252 for the trottle-gy 401 w/s9254 and a throttle jockey pro rev max

any thing that i need to be aware of on the building or flying end of it(tips, trade secrets, tops secret stuff that you dont here about in the manual) please dont be shy, chime right in and let me know what you think- thanks all-GASMECH

Re: Raven 50, Yee Haw!!!

Make sure you post to this thread:-) I am very interested because I fly a Hawk Sport with an OS 32 SHX.....with 148 servos and CSM 200 gyro...

I am thinking about the Falcon 50.....but theres probably not much difference between Raven and Falcon?

Theres loads of helis I would like, but its all down to cash...or lack of:-(

I like value for money, the hawk has been good but needs more power...the OS 32 doesnt quite cut the mustard.....I could upgrade and get an 0S 37 or a Toki 40.....but its probably more worth while getting the next step up...a 50 size heli.

I got a Sceadu evo.....its so nice I dont want to fly it yet....have you much experience with this chopper?

Rob

Re: Raven 50, Yee Haw!!!

sorry no experience with the Sceadu- ive got the hawk sport as well as a blade cp. been looking at the raven and falcon for a while now even thought that it might be a good idea to go with a predator but the price detured me from a predator and they say the wieght to power ratio is awsome on the the raven /50 hyper combo

bad news though- i just got off the phone with the lhs and the raven is backordered and may take up to one month to come in i guess that ill have to get the engine and other equipment while i wait.

ive beeen still trying to sort out the problem with the tail on my hawk, i left a post last night on gas power r/c helicopters- next heli????? if you get a chance take a look at that post and let me know if you have any ideas. i will keep you posted on the raven hyper project as it progresses, mabe ill try the gyro that i ordered for the raven in the hawk to see if it cures the tail problem? thanks-GASMECH

Re: Raven 50, Yee Haw!!!

Hi and congrat's!!!, I have the Raven with the 46 with the 401 gyro and love it! My advice is to mount an extension to the tray in front and mount the gyro as far forward as possible, mount the battery way up front as well behind the gyro and add lead to underneath.
I suffered with tail wag for months and it turned out being the gyro placement.
Have fun!
Jim
