Re: Hawk Pro owner

Humour is very important in this hobby;-)

I was worried about being longwinded in my advice, Nitro engines are funny things.....fixed to a normal plane they are quite simple...you can usually see whats going on....like how far open the carb is etc.

On the humble heli its not so easy with cooling shroud etc in the way.

during your maintenance checks, you can usually remove the carb and check it from time to time.......make sure to fit a fuel filter too.....it is shocking how much gunk gets into fuel......you can fit a filter to the pressure line...muffler to fuel tank...this will save any bits/gunk gettinginto the fuel tank.

I think the Hawk Pro will be fine, I have the sport version...with bits of 'bling' attached......with the Toki you should have power alright.....mine is fitted with an OS 32...its ok but it struggles during aerobatic flight.

I think Centurys helicopters give good value for money.....I dont know what the Toki engine is like....but I have heard nothing bad about them.....you might find that you will need to richen/lean the main needle sometimes....this goes for lots of nitro engines.......the temperature/humidity of the day will dictate......it can be barely noticable. In time you will get to know your heli....and its little quirks...its like a pet:-)

Unhappy Re: Hawk Pro owner

Hi,

I'm having problems starting my Toki engine. It started once for about 5 seconds and has'nt started again since. I took the heli to a local hobby shop and had a few folks look at it. It apears the engine floods very easy and burns out the glow plug. They suggested I add a second tak, one which would feed the primary.

I don't claim to know a lot, but I do know internal combustion engines, and I can't seem to use any of this knowledge to get the heli to light over. any help will be greatly appreciated. I followed the manual for the engine with the best understanding I could mustar and still no possitive results. :
I realize I should not get discorraged, however I can seem to shake it.

Re: Hawk Pro owner

Hi Rob, This is a great idea but what is head loaders anyway?

"In fact.....fit some head loaders to your craft....this will allow you to run the heli without blades....sort of a 'rolling road' for the heli......you can then tinker with the heli to your hearts content....allowing you to set up the proper idle and ensuring that your engine/throttle cut works....essential you need that engine to stop when commanded to do so."

I run an OS 46FSH and have never needed to touch the low end setting. But to get the high end setup, this is a safer idea than fly and find out you made a mistake!
