| Hi all, have a question for the diehard's. Do anyone fly in winter conditions? I mean when there is snow on the ground and when you take off your gloves your finger nails turn purple.. kind of winter.. Well I'm exagerating a little but seriously anyone fly through winter... Tried last year but was way too nervous. Jim |

| Re: **Winter Flying** in the winter i usually fly indoors. i only fly electrics so it is a bit limiting but if it's over 32*F i like to take it outside with thunderpower batteries. the heli is easy to see when everything is snow white. i have even used those little pads called hand warmers when you open the package they get warm. i have taken these and with rubberband covered the battery's. thay add a bit of weight but worked fine. i use my thumbs to fly so using gloves is no problem

| Re: **Winter Flying** You can get icing conditions if its damp and freezing as well.....I havent experienced this yet...there will be a build up of ice on the blades leading edges... Otherwise, winter flying is ok....the air is cooler so there is more lift...with the air being denser. Trouble is is getting seriously cold....I dont feel the same way ...flying with gloves. Rob |

| Hi all, well I hate to say it but my flying season has come to an abrupt end. I had a mishap which blew me away... I took off in 3D mode to see if the upgrades were very noticable. I lined up and did a back flip, after that I somehow switched to normal mode and this is what really bothers me cause I did another back flip only to watch the Raven tumble out of the sky... the last input I had was full negative collective. At the time I thought I had got disoriented but when I came to the wreck, the engine was idling. The heli landed on it's left side wrecking the muffler, bending the frame a good 3/4 of an inch, skid legs broke and the usual crash kit parts. I got the fly bar and frames straightened and had the main shaft and feathering shaft in parts. The tail gear disintergrated and the drive shaft had a slight bend. Had a very good season with a total of 126 flights 7 gallons of fuel and 4 crashes. Jim, |
