V4 Vibrations

Any help appreciated.

I was being very successful and about to hover with my new V4 until it took what i thought was a small knock on the main rotor. Next day I powered up and had a huge vibration that shook even at low revs. Nothing I did seemed to stop it, so i stripped it down and found a bent main rotor shaft. Replaced it and vibration is still there!!

With no fly bar or main rotor i can see the main shaft is not wobbling. The main blades seem to be tracking ok but i can see the fly bar is not. It is equal in length and as best as i can tell the blades are flat. Any body have an idea what i should try next?

Re: V4 Vibrations

If the flybar is not tracking ok then I find it hard to beleive that the paddles are doing the same thing together. I would find the reason why the flybar is not tracking ok then replace or repair it. Then I would relign the paddles, They need to be level with the swashplate level. now you should be ready to try and go for lift again.

If after doing this there is still a vibration then there must be a problem with the main gear mesh. Make sure that it is not too tight. Having the gear meshing too tight with the Motor can cause vibration and loss of power.

Hope this helps, Good luck.
