| The other day I had the rotor head of my Century Raven apart to upgrade the rubber bushings on the feathering shaft. Replacing the feathering shaft is always a problem because even as you oil the shaft, the rubber bushing on the other end ends out herniated which causes problems with the rotor yoke. This time I was installing the hard rubber ones and a new feathering shaft. As you can imagine to push the shaft through even one was a mamoth job. I had an idea... taking my drill I inserted the shaft into the chuck and adding more oil I carefully drilled the shaft through both boots with little problem and no herniation. The job was as easy as a hot knife through butter. Jim |
