Aerial Problem,HELP

Hi Guys,

Would appreciate some help. Have Century Hummingbird V3 and have torn the aerial lead out of the receiver. Helicopter does its own thing without it, as you would expect. Can anyone tell me where to connect it to?
A photo would be a bonus. The heli has a CN2000-2 Lightning Micro RX.

Thankyou.NICKT

Re: Aerial Problem,HELP

What receiver are you using?
Let me know and I probably can assist you.
BTW what experience do you have with soldering miniature components?

Re: Aerial Problem,HELP

Thank you for your reply Helicrazy.

The Receiver is the CN 2000-2 Lightning Micro Rx as listed in the Century parts List.
Good soldering experience, but none with micro components.

Thanks for your time.

Re: Aerial Problem,HELP

hope you get your aerial prob sorted nick, sounds like you will no probs,,,,and as soon as you do,,,i got a couple of tips for you to prevent any aerial probs again,,1st:where the aerial wire leaves the PCB,use a blob of epoxy,or even some good thick CA would do,and glue it to the corner of the PCB,or even the Rx outter casing, this gives a safety buffer for any tugs it gets, worst that happens is the glue gives way,or the wire snaps.2nd: this is a beauty!!,,make yourself a "Base Loaded Micro Antenna"....i just came across this on some other forums,,very easy,,sickeningly cheap,,and takes about 5 mins! i wont even try to do 1 of my half baked technical explanations, heres the link

http://www.iroquois.free-online.co.uk/aerial.htm

i done up 1 for my V3 using the century 5in1 mixer box things....works a treat!,,and so easy to hide away in £1.20 plastic antenna holder tube fixed to your strut of choice. That overly long piece of orange wire for an aerial was driving me a bit insane
