Re: Hello all

May be you can help me. I am new to Trex and I can not get it off the ground. It keeps on trying to spin, and if I correct for it, it spins in the opposite way. After that, I can not correct for it at all. Keeps on spinning.
Set up is: Align 2500Kv brushless motor, Hitec servos, 3sLiPo, 401 gyro, Phoenix 45, Hitec 6 Recv., T9CHP tx.
Use the same setup for gyro in HH as my 30 nitro, no problems there.
Any suggestions?

Re: Hello all

Sounds like to me that your gyro is not set up and it needs more gain I ran my gain at around 70% gain but I was using the futaba GY 240 gyro. Also is it set in heading hold if it is turn off heading hold and adjust the gain until it stops spinning and you can control it then turn heading hold back on.Try that and hopefully it will stop spinning and then you can control it for flight. Also it sounds like you are not useing a digital gyro for the tail so make sure that your 401 is not set for digital servos. Also make sure the trim is set to zero when you set up the gyro or you will have more trouble.Try this and hopefully it will fix it but if not let me know and we will try something else but it sound like there is not enough gain set on the gyro. The tail on the Trex is kind of touchy and the slider sticks also so make sure that there is no binding and that the linkage moves easy take it off the servo and move it with your hand and try to get the linkage as straight as possible I had to turn the servo to where the face was almost facing straight down to get the linkage in a straight line with the tail and make sure that the servo is not binding either. That is just about all the ideas I have right now but let me think on it and see if I can think of something else also which Trex is it there are so many different types out now it is not like it was when there was only the 450x like I had.I know that most of this is taken for granted that you have done this already but I have to start with the easy stuff and try to work to other things so please don't take offense but electrics and nitros are two different worlds sometimes something that works on your 30 will not work with the Trex believe me I have electrics and nitro also but I started with Electrics first.

Re: Hello all

Thanks for quick reply. First of all, no, I am not using digital servo. Made sure 401 was set for regular one. (BTW, I did not know that they are making a micro digital servo.) Reason I said that gyro was set as my nitro, is that the ATV is set the same, and that in turn adjusts the gain. May be the gain is good enough for the 30, not enough for Trex. I have to check that.
I am at the moment on vacation and not home, and thus I can not check now. Just discovered this site and this forum.
Will keep in touch and tell you the results. Hope it is as simple as the setup of the gyro.

Re: Hello all

The Trex is difficult to set up because it is so small and has no weight and that thing needs to be dead on with the CG or you will have problems also they fly really different in the wind it can take some but not a lot because they are so light.I got tired of fighting mine and sold it and got a JR Voyager E still light but bigger and can stand wind a lot better than the Trex I hope you will be able to fix it if not let me know and we will see if I can help you get it in the air have a nice vacation and glad you are not in the storm that is about to hit to your home state.

Re: Hello all

Hi:

check your gyro operation direction switch(DIR), set it to reverse if you use JR radio equipment.
