Here is a question that show off my newbieness!

What do you do with 3 feet of antenna wire on a 1 foot helicopter? T-REX SE

I have my receiver mounted so the antenna is pointing out the back, I then ran the antenna wire though the tubing from back to front with the extra wire haning out the front of the heli.

Any other ideas?

Bob

Re: Here is a question that show off my newbieness!

hello

i didnt put mine through the tube but ran it outside starting about 1/2 way then wrapped it around in circles never crossing over itself then i put tape over it. i usually put shrink wrap on it after. i left a short piece hanging out at the end. i do this to all my heli's and have never had any problem with full range recievers.
or you could get a deans whip antenna or something like it , its about 5 down on the page

Re: Here is a question that show off my newbieness!

You could use it for underslung loads hehehe....only kidding.

I fly a nitro Hawk....I use a plastic tube mounted on the skid legs the wire is threaded through....even on some nitros the wire can be quite long.

With electric helis dont you have to be careful to avoid interference?

I am thinking about getting a TRex.....what sort of wind will they fly in?

They seem a popular model.

I don't know how windy it can get before it is no fun to fly, but I can say I have flown it in 5-8 mpg winds and it remains quit stable, very impressive.

I fly my Trex in winds I would NOT fly my blade in.
