T-Rex without Tx

I have been flying a blade cp for a couple of months now and found a very good deal on a slightly used T-Rex, it has a gy401 gyro and I plan on using the plastic blades to slow it down a bit, but first I need to get a Tx.

I have read some about the DX6 digital ($199) and it sounds good, but what else in that price range is as good or better. Please give me your opinions before I make the plunge. I feel like buying the Tx is kind of like picking a wife, heli's may come and go but a good Tx could be around for a long time.

Thanks
Van

Exclamation Re: T-Rex without Tx

dx6 is good. but is only a park flier
meaning
6 channels is bare
so if u ever thing about flying 30 size electrics
or nitro its outta the question
for a little bit more money u could get a futuba 7ch/cap and get 1 superiour tail servo... and 3 other servos for basic movement so ur tail is crisp
i would advise u use the same servo for tail and pitch
quick n crisp pull outs
ne ways
u prolly would def save in the long run going futuba
park flier tx will make ur spend for a futuba 7ch sooner or later
just buy one tx and pay one time..rather then spending 4-5 times
ne ways
i think dx6 works on trex....

Re: T-Rex without Tx

Just recently picked up the slightly used T-Rex 450xl without a tx or rx, I have never flown a t-rex, so I have no idea how to set up a machine like that.

Yesterday a guy aproached me while in my lhs looking at tx, he said he has a JR-xp642 that he isn't using anymore and for $100 he would sell me that and a reciever and help me set it up. Is this a good deal? I looked them up on the net and it seems they are about 5 yr old technology, but is it still plenty good for a T-Rex.

Apreciate any help and advice.

Van

i wouldnt do it... for 70-90 bucks more...cut tha crap
and get the new optic 6 computer tx. its recent, its top line, very good reviews from it. and u get a choice of 4 servo or up to 6 and u get rx.
make your own radio controled system here
http://servocity.com/html/radio_control_systems.html
cuts down on money so u can use for spares.
