trex 450xl cde

well now that ive completely fallen into this endless pit of rc helicopters, i have decided im gonna go for a trex 450xl cde. i have been flying a blade cp for a little over a month now and im absolutely hooked. anyway i wanted to get the 120 degree swash since its the same as blade cp so id be more familiar with that.

anyway do you guys think getting a trex after only flying for one month is a bit too soon or should i go for it? i plan on getting a complete combo kit for about 500-600 bucks and assembling it from scratch. anyway im not worried about the assembly, thats actually one thing i really look forward to, im worried about setting up the radio (hitec optic 6, comes with the package). i have never setup any radio or built any heli from scratch but i downloaded tons of setup videos. should that be enough for someone like me to get it up and running?

how much wind can a trex withstand? and is it flyable indoors, like in a squash court (no tricks of course, just hovering around here and there)?

Re: trex 450xl cde

i fly up to 14 Km wind but it's not realy a flyte but fight for survival up to 8+ it's no problem for me.
you can hover in doors if you have the space
For me it's easyer to fly t-rex than Honey bee cp which is very similar to blade Cp. For start use the plastic blades woodies and more Cf meke t-rex very responcive and fast that's deficult to control for a newbee

old man, thanks for the info. do you really think the plastic blades would help? i can hover my blade cp pretty well now, and you mentioned that a trex is easier to fly than a blade cp/ hb cp2?

Yes it is easyer more stable and the plastic blades do help till you get the hang of it. They slow it a little also some expo helps and some waight on the fly bar (wheel colars) But if you can hover blade cp T-rex will be piece of cake with no mod just a good set up

if u ask me. you should be doing curcits and some small stall turns b4 investing in such a big bird. a little nose in side in.figure 8's.ur opinion for a bird can charge greatly over a few more months of learning
happy flies

Expo is a setting in the TX that makes the stick less sensitive around nutral you use it on the right stick (mode2) eleron-elevator, in my Futaba when i test flown my first t-rex i used -20% for your Tx you have to read the manual
