buying a t rex 450SE

next week im getting a t-rex for real cheap at a local store. i was also thinking on complimenting it with a nice radio but not sure which one that will last longer as the hobby goes on.

t rex for 420.00 plus tax

but what i found out that i need other stuff too.

battery
charger, prolly align cause of the balancer
gyro, futaba i heard is good. i think its 4XXX model
radio

futaba 9c
spektrum 6dx
jr 9

not sure which one yet but this store is gonna give me a real good deal on all the parts cause im buying it at one store.

spektrum set is park flier and only will do u good if ur gonna stay in eletrics*small mirco)
i say u go with the futuba 7c or 9c with dual rates and 5 point curves at the minimal
everything revloves around ur tx
just get the best nowev and dont beat around the bush
remember when ever u out grow eletrics your gonna have to but controller after controller
just get one universial best tx to suit asll ur things

as some famous man said and i dont remember his name but
"begin with an end in mind"
happy flies and safe landings

Re: buying a t rex 450SE

Blackhawk is right, get a good transmitter that can suit all types of heli....I have a Futaba FF7 which is very good...it can deal with helis or fixed wing stuff.

Getting a decent transmitter is crucial.....if you buy a cheap alternative then you will end up buying again....if you want to progress in the hobby.....'buy cheap...buy twice'...goes the saying.

That T Rex deserves a good transmitter!!!! I have heard nothing but good things about that helicopter....I fly a nitro Hawk but would love an electric heli....the T Rex is my choice for sure.

Good luck

Rob

hmm....as i hear from ghostcav
he is very displeased with the t-rex
if u are a noob starting with the t-rex prolly wont turn out as u want it
especially the 450se
its very quick and dosent give u much of a settle down point especially if ur a noob
think and read thru posts on her b4 buying
u might find useful information

Re: buying a t rex 450SE

i wanted to just buy one radio. i dont think im gonna buy another later on.

as for the heli i think that it would be fun with the 450 SE. if i get the cheaper one i would get bored soo fast. i was at the shop over here in cali and i saw the one that most are saying is the best for beginers. it looked borring. so im gonna start with the nicer one.

Cool dont worry.....be happy

ok i am new to this heli thing and all i can say is that if you are new to heli's and thinking about the trex se then dont worry if you use the wooden blades to learn with the heli should be fine ( depending on the mishap you have ) the blades should break without causing any undue stress on the nice shiny aluminium parts.... the carbon blades are stronger and will probably bend other things before they break... making your wallet very light...

also like i said i am new whats 7c and 9c when talking of tx .... you lost me

teach me teach me NOW....

this is good have a look

Re: buying a t rex 450SE

7c is 7 chanel futaba TX and 9c is 9 chanel futaba TX as for the rest above i have to say one thing i fly for many years now i started at the time that no gyros were available (only crashing lol) teach my self the hard way and i'll say it once more i never crashed my T-rex till now... but i crash a lot with honey bee when wind takes over and is imposible to find a really calm day there's always a breze or thermal.
I live it to you to work it out
Also only a stubit crash with my nitro
