Re: Mixture too Rich?

They get messy for sure, the surest way is to compare fuel usage....this will be higher during 'break in' .......are you using a muffler extension? mine is made from silicone rubber and keeps the exhaust residue well away from my chopper.

oil residue should comfort you......no residue means problems with either fuel or carb settings.

Heres a tip: have you sealed the muffler to the engine? that joint can leak like crazy.......which will drive you mad becuase the mess gets all over the place.

Remove, clean both muffler joint surface and engine exhaust port surface.....clean really well....mix some 5 minute epoxy....smear on both jointing surfaces......join....tighten the bolts...just nip them up.....wait for a while then tighten....but dont overdo it.....hey presto!!!! a nice leak free joint which should leave your engine looking good.:-)
