Hello all:

Newbie here. Just finished making all the adjustments and whatnot on my new Raptor 50 SE. I bought the OS 50 engine, instead of the Thunder Tiger 50.

Took it to the the drive way this afternoon to see if it would even start and sure enough it did. :-) The adrenaline pumping and all.

My question is how much fuel residue is considered normal? In the booklet that came with the engine, they suggested 1.5 turns away from closed.(Needle valve) It also stated that you should run it about yet another turn open during the break-in period, and for higher percentages of Nitro. I'm running 30% Nitro so I figured about 2-2.5 turns should do the trick.

However, after running the engine up to just "float" the heli, it was leaving a light spray of fuel all over the driveway behind the exhaust. I would have never known this had it been in grass, etc. In addition to that, everything aft of the muffler was pretty much damp with fuel. Is that normal?

I know it says in the manuals, etc. to wipe everything down after flying.

But there was seriously almost a stream running down the left rear skid.
