| First time Heli Flyer, Please Help....anyone Good afternoon, I'm new to Helicopter Fever and also new to flying R/C Helos. I won't beat the bush, I'll cut right to the chase. I have recently purchased as a first "bird" to fly the 3 Channel Apache that has the silver metal counter balance bar. I know that it will take time and patience to learn to navigate it, but wondering if there are any flying tips anyone can give me or direct me to? Secondly I'd like to know is there some type of tip or balancing that needs to be done before flying? I'd appreciate help from anyone that is willing to offer it, but would especially like it from those who have taken this same path of flight "3 channel apache" and know first hand what I'm up against. Thank you all for taking the time to read this post and thank you again for anyone willing to step up/in and assist me however they can. Be Blessed and Highly Favored. Rev. Mark |

| Re: First time Heli Flyer, Please Help....anyone Hello, I just read your post and want to welcome you to helicopters! I don't have one like yours but I think that it is a dual rotor like the Axe EZ so it is not to hard to fly. Most of them are four channel so your's will be a little limited but it will get you started. The best tip that I can give you is to use some sort of training gear on your heli. This can be a simple set of crossed sticks rubber banded to the skids. You will find that when your first start to fly the heli will want to tip and the sticks will prevent this until you get the feel for making the corrections needed. Take your time and have fun learning! Huey

| Re: First time Heli Flyer, Please Help....anyone Find yourself a field/large open space to fly. It's not that hard once you get a bit of practice in, 3 channel helicopters are almost toys so there shouldn't be many problems. Center of gravity should be set (by moving battery back and forth) so that the front and back skids lift off the ground at the same time. Good luck. |
