fuel leakage i have a shuttle sceadu 30 and i noticed that the engine, (should be a OS 32SX-H) was leaking fuel at the 'head' or the place wher the plug is. around that area.. is this normal? or is the gasket or something not fitted properly? help please.

Re: fuel leakage No this is not normal First is it leaking while you are fueling. If so you are pumping fuel into the engine and it is leaking through the carb because the cylinder is fuel. this will cause hydrolock. Solution pinch off the fuel line to the engine while fueling. Second, check the glow plug for a copper washer this washer needs to there. all glow plugs have a copper washer. third the head bolts can be loose. Rarity occurance unless rebuilt even then probaly forgot to tighten them This are most likely. Good luck

Re: fuel leakage make sure the muffler is well sealed, I use 5 minute epoxy to seal mine....just smear a thin layer on the muffler and cylinder faces...and bolt together. Mufflers can leak and cause a real mess. The carb could be spluttering fuel too....depending on engine tuning, this also makes a mess of things. I got the same heli as you, I put an OS37 in mine. It sure flies well. Rob

Re: fuel leakage once the bolts are tight just make sure that for the first couple of flights that you land and check they are still tight. Mine worked loose and the engine still ran, was really noisy and made one giant mess of oil over the cylinder head....went everywhere.
