Sim Behavior?

I am ready to move from my CX2 and started playing with some of the sims out there. I am using a USB joystick (PS2 controller).,

I am confused about two sim behaviors. The model heli does not react to the self-centering control. After applying some stick in a direction the model does not return to center position with the stick. I have to apply stick in the opposite direction to return the model to a neutral position.

second... when I move forward with the heli and apply rudder to turn the heli 180 degrees, the heli does not travel in the direction the nose is pointed, but moved in the original direction which is now backwards with respect to the nose. I have to apply forward pitch to move in the direction of the nose.

Is this accurate? My CX2 does not behave like this. The cx2 will respond to stick centering and change direction when rudder is applied. Is it a issue with the USB joystick?
