I hear so much about this...its like one type doesnt suffer and the other does and then its vice versa...WTF?
LiPO is the way to go but nimh is ok in that it wont suffer memory effect at all...this seems to affect radio batteries and so forth where the demands, though constant, are nice and steady and quite low. Thats where I would be wary.
Whatever you choose make sure to land that heli once it loses power...you will ruin any battery by persistant abuse...and end up with a fire if you are not careful.
I didnt realise the heli you have has a tail motor/rotor...what a rubbish setup that is. I am not trying to annoy you...but they are a rubbish idea. What the heck...have your fun with it...but dont spend too much cash on it. The main motor upgrade is the most I would spend on it.
