Re: Any one out there!

If the CX2 seems to wander about a bit too much and not in any one direction:

Try adjusting the flybar linkage...if the flybar is out of track then this would cause all sorts of wandering about.

Apart form that it could be down to turbulance...most of these helis are flown indoors in average size sitting rooms...I say average...but you know what I mean.

The Trex 450 series are very good helis....they cope well with a breeze and are quality units...upgrades are many if you want to bling it.

I have an XL HDE version, I dont fly it now beacuse the radio gear needs changing to 2.4 ghz as I am getting fed up with radio 'noise' off the motor and ESC unit.

If you get the Rex then get good gear for it...like a decent charger for the batterys...and get good batterys too...cheap ones can ruin your day.

One golden bit of advice too...most allen screws which are meant to be 1.5mm...arent! they are 1/16'' size...makes a massive difference when you are assembling the items. And more importantly when you need to take things apart to either repair or maintain.

Get good on the Simulator....its a handy tool for learning...its hard enough with setting up the real model to fly along with dealing with any problems..and learning to fly at the same time just makes things very difficult.

Heard some good things about the Blade 400, could be a good budget machine...whatever you get just make SURE you can get the parts if and when you need them...nothing is worse than scarcity/rarity of parts.

Oh...and make sure to make a training hoop for your heli...just plastic tubeing...form a circle....about the same size as the rotor diameter...then use sticks...lash these to the hoop in such a way that they cross the skids...where they cross the skids use elastic bands to fasten...voila! one VERY useful training aid...I still use one on my gasser heli if I am testing a gyro or when doing a lot of 'nose in' hovering at low level..just helps save the heli should I make a silly mistake.
