Sceadu 30...it flies!!!!

When I started out in RC helis about 4 years ago I bought a Sceadu 30. Its a Shuttle but with some refining details.

I dedided to save it for 'best' ie when I had learnt to fly and so on. I never got around to this...I had a Nexus as a first heli and a Hawk Sport was my second heli...then I decided to go the gasser route as petrol is cheap and easy to find.

Well...I was curious as to how the Sceadu would fly. I built is some time ago and had started to fit it out with servos and an engine...an OS32.

I replaced the OS32 with an OS37, and fitted standard futaba servos (3001's) with a GY191 gyro...nothing special but it works.

Well...this afternoon I took her up and got the engine fired up....after some messing about with the carb settings...it was way too rich...and with some gusty wind conditions I had a great time...its so quiet compared to the gasser.

Its a joy to fly, nice and light...and fuel economy is not too bad...I have yet to time out a tank because I had forgotten to tighten the muffler and it got loose...got noisy then I had used epoxy to make a seal between the muffler and engine...it works well. Anyhow the muffler is back on and I cant wait to get out and do some more flying about.

I am no expert by any means, but I find Hirobos detail is good...instructions are very good indeed...the build was a pleasure...with no guess work.

Control system is nice and tight...easy action but with little if any slop and play...the weak point is the flybar carrier...the corners are thin and could easily break...so do check...this was pointed out by Azzy...so thanks mate

I wanted a heli as a stopgap at work...the gasser is too big and crazy and would draw a crowd....but the Sceadu is nice and quiet. Hope to fly this for some time to come.
